I believe prayer is powerful. And today I am asking for prayers. Prayers for my mentor Regina Williams and her beautiful family.

That’s all I can seem to type out this morning. Thank you in advance for lifting her name to our BIG God.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
    I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble;
    I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”  Psalm 91

The Refining Fire – Changed

Since October 12, 2013 I am forever changed. My heart will always be marked.

When I hear the word fire I get chills.

When I smell smoke or see fire my stomach drops.

When I hear people complain about their stuff I fight off contentment.

When I hear people mention the church I smile because I know what being cared for by the church really means.

When I read God’s words I know he’s close and leading us.

My life will never be the same. I’m grieving but I’m grateful. And I can still say God is always good.

Starting Your Week

Good Morning, I would love to give you some encouragement to start your week. Recently I read Jesus Calling and as usual it was a great source of encouragement. As you read these words, I pray this will allow you to start the new week encouraged …

Trust Me, and don’t be afraid. I want you to view trials as exercises designed to develop your trust-muscles. You live in the midst of fierce spiritual battles, and fear is one of Satan’s favorite weapons. When you start to feel afraid, affirm your trust in Me. Speak out loud, if circumstances permit. Resist the devil in My Name, and he will slink away from you. Refresh yourself in My holy Presence. Speak or sing praises to Me, and My Face will shine radiantly upon you.

Remember that there is no condemnation for those who belong to Me. You have been judged NOT GUILTY for all eternity. Trust Me, and don’t be afraid; for I am your Strength, Song, and Salvation.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
—James 4:7

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
—Romans 8:1–2

“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.”
—Isaiah 12:2

Perfect Doesn’t Exist

Do you see those nasty dishes? Goodness who’s sink is that? Uh oh it’s mine! Hahaha! So I have really been working on having an off time each day. Mine is 8:30 pm. If it gets to 8:30 and I haven’t done the dishes then I have to leave them til morning. This is not an easy thing to do. However it is necessary for me.

There is always work to do in this house!

I’m learning slowly that down time is important so that I don’t burn out. I pray this post encourages you to create down time as well. As wives, moms, and women we need to take care of ourselves! Our job of serving our families is a very important job!

Anyway – I sure am thankful that I’ve learned perfect doesn’t exist us – only my Savior is perfect!

Don’t Panic

I was reading and came across this section in Isaiah. Man, it’s an unbelievable source of encouragement. So I had to share today. I hope that it encourages your heart as well. Too often I believe the lie that came into this world when Eve ate from the tree of knowledge. The lie is that “I don’t need God.” But the truth is we desperately do! Let these words wash over your heart today –

“But you, Israel, are my servant. You’re Jacob, my first choice, descendants of my good friend Abraham. I pulled you in from all over the world, called you in from every dark corner of the earth, Telling you, ‘You’re my servant, serving on my side. I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’ Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you. “Count on it: Everyone who had it in for you will end up out in the cold— real losers. Those who worked against you will end up empty-handed— nothing to show for their lives. When you go out looking for your old adversaries you won’t find them— Not a trace of your old enemies, not even a memory. That’s right. Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic. I’m right here to help you.’ “Do you feel like a lowly worm, Jacob? Don’t be afraid. Feel like a fragile insect, Israel? I’ll help you. I, God, want to reassure you. The God who buys you back, The Holy of Israel. I’m transforming you from worm to harrow, from insect to iron. As a sharp-toothed harrow you’ll smooth out the mountains, turn those tough old hills into loamy soil. You’ll open the rough ground to the weather, to the blasts of sun and wind and rain. But you’ll be confident and exuberant, expansive in The Holy of Israel! (Isaiah 41:8-16 MSG)

Thirsty Thursday – Challenging Times

Challenging times are just a part of life. We all have ups and downs. How do we best handle the downs? Last weeks Jesus Calling devotion explained this perfect…

June 4

Welcome challenging times as opportunities to trust Me. You have Me beside you and My Spirit within you, so no set of circumstances is too much for you to handle.When the path before you is dotted with difficulties, beware of measuring your strength against those challenges. That calculation is certain to riddle you with anxiety. Without Me, you wouldn’t make it past the first hurdle!

The way to walk through demanding days is to grip My hand tightly and stay in close communication with Me. Let your thoughts and spoken words be richly flavored with trust and thankfulness. Regardless of the day’s problems, I can keep you in perfect Peace as you stay close to Me.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.
—James 1:2

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
—Philippians 4:13

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
—Isaiah 26:3
